Why do they have to hold it in the morning? They should hold it in the afternoon so the US can watch. After all, we conquered Germany.
I'm the best poster. Just ask me.

4 guys at 1:00.48 at the half, with Bekele at 1:01:00!!

Front woman on sub-2:20 pace, but they're not showing much of the women's race!
I think there's handful of women near the front!

Men have slowed a lot between the half & 25K, so Bekele is catching back up!
Error on the Women from earlier--the leaders (4 of them!) are running 2:18:40 pace, not just sub-2:20!!

Shalane Flanagan ran a big negative split to run 2:38:42, for 17th place!
                1:23:52 & 1:14:50!!!

                  Race story with leading results:
It was a survival contest the final half-marathon in Berlin, as the crazy fast pace (60:48 at half way) and warm conditions took its toll on the entire field. Guye Adola emerged as the winner, Bekele in 3rd. Gotytom Gebreslase was impressive in her debut.

The finishing time was mediocre by WMM standard, but this was an entertaining race. When Bekele fell off the lead pack, I thought that was a calculated move. And sure enough, he caught up with the leaders soon. But when Yegon passed him, I thought he would also pass Adola for the win. In that situation he should have stayed behind Adola and wait until he had enough energy to make a decisive move to mentally break Adola. But he moved just ahead of Adola, who could use him as a pacer to regroup. Kudo to Adola who was the only one not to blow up among the four who went through the half at an insane pace.

The women's race should have been interesting with the top two trading the lead through 35k. Unfortunately, the TV didn't show most of it.

The announcers talked about the humidity but I don't think they ever mentioned the temperature. Seeing how the spectators were dressed it appeared to me that it was much too warm for all the talk of a record.

The petrol shortage in Britain getting to crises level I wonder if the London Marathon is still on.

It shouldn't be a problem. most people travel to the race by electric trains.

I do quite like the idea of forcing the panic buyers to run a marathon though!

Instead of water stations, they get a cup of car nectar every 5km to tip into the jerrycan on their back.

I don't know what car nectar is or why they would give it to the runners. Could it be any cheaper than tap water or water from a nearby lake or river?
