That is what the event was first known as.

On page 6, Jeff Hollobaugh wrote, in part, "That she did, with her first-round hop-step-jump (as opposed to triple jump) effort..." describing Yulimar Rojas's performance. Is that a reference to her short step phase? Or does it mean something else?

Also, pictures of Conner Mantz and Cooper Teare are reversed.

no shortage of fouls, but without knowing how many were intentional, any accountng thereoff is kinda meaningless

As noted at the bottom of the page, the photos on Page 36 are captured from a video:

In a way, they are the opposite of a flip book.

Loved the photos, and yes, they're by far the most of one athlete in an issue of T&FN ever!!
Remember those tiny booklets we had as a child, where by flipping the pages really fast, the person would be dancing or running or jumping?
That's what those photos reminded me of--except they didn't capture the movement those flip books did.
To fully appreciate Allman's technique or style, you have to see her in person, or on TV.

Just discovered she was born on the same day as my niece and nephew.

To this reader, she certainly deserved it! She and Nageotte kinda got lost in the Olympic hoopla.

    October TFN

I'm guessing Valarie Allman set a record for photos/issue with 4 large photos and 9 smaller sequence shots ? Hard to believe anyone has more than 13.
Working...
