  • Awesome HSR For Francena McCorory

Today in Landover, on a flat track, she smashed Sanya Richards 400 HSR(52.10) with a 51.93. And Sanya's mark was made on the banked Armory track.

Maybe THIS HS thread will get those responses you need to justify a HS Board!

There is video of this great run, along with Walter Henning's record WT and other events over here: http://www.dyestat.com/3us/6in/NIN/video/index.htm

I'm suprised that there wasn't a strong response on this thread as they is an amazing accomplishment! She broke the great Sanya Richards HSR on a flat track

Francena is very talented and stepped up big time in a year where Bianca Knight had taken over as sprint queen. She had already broken the US HSR and WJR in the 300m earlier in the season. The US Junior Nationals should be very tough this year with the likes of high schoolers Francena, BKnight, Ebony Collins, Brandi Cross, Brittany Jones and collegiate Alexandria Anderson.

She also moves into the all-time HS top 10 for all-conditions (meaning that the 9 ahead of her all did it outdoors!). On the boys side, somebody would have to run 45.44 indoors to match the feat. (Although it's a given that all the boys ATLs are much tougher to crack.)

Didn't I read that her 300 mark is not just the HSR and AJR, but also the AR??

The videographer for Dyestat is none other than Olympic steepler Marc Davis.

Yes, but it's the ar in lower case rather than AR, in the sense that no open sprinter of any real consequence has tackled the event in a long time. It's a wonderful run, sure, but if she had been against an Allyson Felix, for example, in the same race, she would have finished notably behind.

Either way it is a heck of a time for a high schooler. But who would you pick in a 300m between Sanya, Allyson and VC?

Allyson. And I think Victor Conte would probably come in last . . . :P
