No surprise and probably best for everyone, including Mboma - the negative publicity would have been a glaring problem.

so will they be dealing with it in Budapest/Paris or will there be a permanent ban including 200m?

They (WA) are probably waiting for a world record by one of the DSD athletes before taking action on the 200m.

        • With Mboma out and Gabby not qualifying, the path is clear for Abby to get a medal. If she can hold her form, I don't think three people are beating her.

Del Ponte finished in a distant second, I'm guessing 11.1x based on Kambundji's margin over her.

EDIT: the result is already on her WA profile. Her time was 11.26.
That injury ADP suffered in the late winter, early spring sadly has put her way behind this season.

Would it have? Worlds is krill to the Blue whale of the Olympics. It would have been fine if she ran IMO

              Is Masilingi also injured?

                • Finally some news on Sifan Hassan. New detailed article tonight. She does plan to race in Eugene. Everything is a lot more complicated than I realized. Run the article through the translator and you'll see everything from injuries, to faith, to needing time to recover from Tokyo, to climbing rock walls, to swimming to improve coordination, to determination to get her drivers license.

"It will be a race against time to be sharp in Eugene," says her manager Jos Hermens. "But it will be fine. Sifan only goes for the highest and she has needed time to recover from the super season 2021. The Olympic Games have had a huge impact on her."

"Mentally and physically it may have been too much of a burden. Running six races at top level, including preliminary rounds and finals, is of course unprecedented and never seen before. And then she also fell in the series at those 1,500 meters. "With bronze in the final at that distance. We always expect a world top player to be there again the following year, but Hassan is not a machine," explains Hermens.

Where Hassan opted for the tough program of three parts (1,500, 5,000 and 10,000 meters) at the Olympics, her trainer Tim Rowberry makes it clear that that will not happen now. "We do not yet know what distance or distances Hassan will end up at. Everything stands or falls with the results of the last training sessions. Sifan and I will probably only decide at the very last moment what it will be."

                  • Once again, the w200m could have been THE event of the champs, and once again contenders DNQ (Thomas, Brown), are injured (Mboma) or not (yet?) in good enough form (DAS).

We are left with 2 or the 3 medalists from Tokyo not running and 1 from Doha. 50% of the medalists from the last 2 majors not even starting here. How time moves on!

She'll get there. She said after the 200m at the NCs she had received new Adidas spikes on the Friday, and they felt great. Not the same carbon fibre plate as Nike, but still 'next generation' spikes, and she believed they helped her run what was effectively a PB.

Kaczmarek has improved nicely with her New Balance carbon fibre spikes too (the same as McLaughlin & Bol..) As has been discussed before, so far it's the Adidas athletes that have been at a slight disadvantage with no carbon fibre equivalent, but it seems that might not be the case now.

Sandi Morris and Katie Negeotte face off in pole vault in their training city.
perfect timing group will have results. Possibly live .
also, there is a meet in Miami tomorrow as well. I can't find any details, but Delilah Muhammad ran there last year and Fred Kerley in 2021. Maybe some talented athletes will show up.

Wouldn't that be the Comeback of the Decade if he won the WC?
