  • Commonwealth Games Video

Does anyone know of any websites that a posting video clips from the Commonwealth Games? Since I'm in the US, Austalia's Big Pond and TV NZ won't let me view their clips. The BBC is streaming to UK residents but they don't seem to be posting any clips.

    Thorvision may.

Eurosport will cover the Games as will BBC.

It looks like Thorvision only covers sprinting (plus they infringe on copyrights)and Eurovision doesn't seem to have any CG clips in any sport up yet. I'm most interested in seeing the women's 10,000 on Tuesday as I have a friend running. Any other ideas?

          CBC coverage

          http://www.athleticscanada.com/cmslib/g ... 510138.pdf

The CBC is showing daily 1 hour hilites packages with repeats. Not sure what they will show though.

Remember that one hour is for all sports so no way will they show the entire women's 10K. I imagine they will only mention track events where Canada medals.

Thanks for the help guys. I've figured out a way to at least get the BBC live radio broadcast. I won't tell you how here because I'm pretty sure GH would yank the post. I'm going to try out the live video tomorrow morning for the 5000m.

I know your post means well, but please don't respond to everyone like they have no knowledge of track and field even if just a very supportive fan. If it is the average fan who comes to learn more of this site, it drives us away.

I guess I need to be more specific when I post as my intent was maybe if the person could not find source they might get to view their friend on CBC, no matter the limit of the coverage. Thank you but I understand how long a
10 000 m race is and that CBC would not show it all.

BBC World News has been showing a few brief clips in their daily sports reports. My cable provider now not only carries BBC America but also a 24-hour BBC news channel. Heck of a lot better news reporting than any of the American channels.

                      What???

I was in no way saying that you or anyone else does not know how long it takes to run a 10K. I was expressing frustration that CBC only gives one hour coverage to all sports so much as we would love to see the race in its entirety it wasn't going to happen.

I am an average fan myself-my knowledge pales in comparison to most people here-I am the last person that could possibly drive anyone away with my vastly surperior knowledge! Especially in th distance events!

Now if you want to learn how to hurdle I am your gal!

Do you have a link to a streaming broadcast from the bbc? I've been going all over their website and can't find one.

                        Thanks.

trackhead: I think that this is the page from which you would get the BBC video - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/commonw ... efault.stm . It won't work unless you are using one of the BBC's approved broadband providers, that's how they limit it to UK residents.

I thought I could fool the BBC into thinking I was in the UK by using a proxy in London but it didn't work, although it did convince CBS that I wasn't in the US. You can sometimes get BBC radio Five Live during the morning session but not during the night. I did find a radio station in Sydney that is broadcasting the night session and they don't care where you are. Here's the link - http://www.2ue.com.au/ . I used this to hear my friends race but unfortunately she had a bad day.

Supposedly, only available in Australia, however, I know at least one in the US who has been able to access.

thanks, I was actaully able to watch the bbc video, though I got home too late for the 1500 final. I was able to watch the relays, though.

                              Thanks.
