...But after running on Saturday, Steiner said the weekend would be the last time she wears the Wildcat uniform.

Which other athletes have problems with the media? Some may be introverts who aren't thrilled about talking to reporters. But that is because of being shy, not because they have anything against reporters.

It seems that what set Richardson off was that she saw some reporters reporting online that someone besides Richardson won the 100 and 200. What else were they supposed to report?
I think opinion of the media is one of the great litmus tests, especially in contemporary society. I have been impressed with the vast majority of track athletes and swimming athletes who obviously respect the media immensely and provide the time. Lots of the post event track interviews are 3+ minutes while fielding plenty of questions. The swimmers are even better. Those interviews are regularly 20 minutes to an hour, including the Lani Pallister interview posted on SwimSwam today.

Regarding wokesters I have no idea what that means, other than the people mocking wokesters on various sites are the ones who also are cherishing lies. That tells me all I need to know.

I don't think Mboma and Niyonsaba should be out there. It's sad to see a talent like Hassan obviously so troubled she hasn't run at all this calendar year.

Curious to see which group Steiner ends up joining. Maybe Noah Lyles' group?

She told the mixed zone at USA’s she’s staying in Lexington and Tim Hall’s interview seemed to indicate that he’ll continue coaching her.

All you need to know about the wokesters is that they think you, me and all the other folks here who don't think Mboma and Nyonsaba should be allowed to compete in the women category are Neanderthals. I've argued with these people on this issue and they believe that competitive fairness should be a secondary consideration when it comes women's sports, and gender identity should be primary.

FYI, Abby Steiner has been tested 3 times this year in addition to NCAA testing. Noah Lyles has been tested twice and Sydney McLaughlin has been tested once.

It is difficult to understand how people who rely on the media to get out a message, do not understand the symbiosis at play. Denigrating the very people who report on you will not make them more likely to show you in a good light.

Here's to hoping that Ms. Steiner is able to ignore all of the silliness around her and focus on being at her best. The Jamaicans are certainly a tall order to face, but I am excited to watch it unfold.

That would be a great choice, IMO. I see no reason to tinker with success at this point.

This paragraph doesn't make sense. It is incomplete. What lies?

SCR made that statement after she saw Gabby Thomas cried in front of the media at the mixed zone.

What on earth is a 'wokester' to you? To me (and the dictionary) it is someone who acknowledges the systemic biases (race, sex, homosexuality, transexuality) inherent in our society and works to overcome them. Aren't YOU one of those?

                              From the Urban Dictionary:

An easily offended 20-something idiot who believes the word 'woke' legitimizes their self-centered view of the world. These individuals often lack skills in civil discourse, or an educated background in any subject they rant in.

                              • Ah, yes,Urban Dictionary, that crowdsourced online tool for slang words, that has multiple definitions for the same word or phrase, that kids can vote up a definition to get it included and to the top of the lists.

                                Great source, that. 🙄
