Hey, I want to start my own personal runnng club; basically training the local youth in sprints. I live in Santa Monica California. I am 33 years old and have sprinting experience behind me at a DIV I school. Any thought show I would go about doing this?

Do i need some type of certification? thanks! just doin what I enjoy best...living, running, breathing fresh air......

The first thing you'll want to do is get your club registered with your local USATF office.
    https://www.usatf.org/clubs/application/download/

I always recommend ceritification for all coaches (whether for high school/USATF/AAU/...etc).

There are a lot of expenses and costs associated with running a track club so I would recommend looking for local sponsors (local shoe stores, banks, local health food store...etc).

Get a business bank account (checking/saving) under your track club's name. This helps for accounting and keeping your personal funds separate for tax purposes (you don't want those types of problems).

    Recruit, recruit............recruit!!!

    Best of luck!

After looking over your web page, be sure and mention your resume when seeking sponsorship. The fact that you were self-coached, and so danged fast, ought to impress anyone. For one, I am looking forward to seeing how this works out for you.

      Best of luck!
