Kimberly Garcia goes 5th on the medal table and equals the legit World Best (WRs to start next year) of Maria Perez with 2:39:16.

Super times and NRs aplenty further down the field.

Endurance race walks start at 40k. The ridiculous 30% reduction they made is the equivalent of reducing the marathon to an 18 mile race. Ask Evan Dunfee if there is no big difference! He will laugh at you!

Has a doctor from any country ever done it before?

The distance reduction isn't going to change. If you're thinking a 35km event is not about endurance, then you're understanding of Ex Phys needs a refresher.

But they didn't exactly make the podium here (or ever)

Wow. Susan Liers-Westerfield. The OG LI walk star. I remember her from the Empire State Games back in the 80s when NY was the hotbed of walking.

We trained together for a few years later in her career. One of the toughest athletes I've ever known. Will be doing a clinic w/ Jeanne Bocci next wknd.

This race dropped me 26 places in the ATSTATS prediction contest. I was doing so well until this morning.

The ones on the team (who did the manipulating & lying, etc) will need the Gods of ALL the world's religions to finish in the top FIFTY!!!!
                        Shame on them!!!

                          Why is her MD relevant?

Not many WC medalists simultaneously work a 'serious' job like that. Although she said it's easier now, doing a residency, than it was when she was in med school. She essentially had to put her racewalking career on hold for about 2 years during her studies.

I'll save most of my commentary on this race and one particular MISSING athlete for my blog!!
But I'm gonna say I TOLD YOU SO! about WHO we should have had on this team!
"HER" American Record would've placed "HER" 11th here---
9:22 ahead of the 1st American here
12:26 ahead of the 2nd American
16:02 ahead of the 3rd American---
and 13 places ahead of the 1st American!!

And btw, I was predicting a time of at least 2:45 for "HER"!!
                                HUGE mistake by everyone involved!!
