You've heard Syd talk about her faith in interviews, but the depth and relaxed nature of what she says here gives me a whole different perspective on her. To me, this is the best interview she's ever done and Tee Williams gets a ton of credit.
Also forgot that in the interview, she confirmed she will be hyphenating her name to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone moving forward. And she pronounced it for everyone to get it right = Leh-Vro-Knee

Is that the same as Lev-ro-knee, which is what is here (1:10 mark).

Doesn't appear so and she was a short sprinter who moved up to the 800m.

How often will SML race SMU over 400m?

Joking aside, as it stands, it is unlikely they will ever race each other over 400m, seeing as though SMU has said she will run the 200m from now on. Unless SMU comes to her senses and goes back to the 400m if she doesn't medal /get gold, in Budapest... That's what I'd like to think, that she would realise her best chance of gold lies with the 400m. But, the way she has spoken about achieving what she wanted to at 400m - double Olympic gold, and now World gold - it really sounds like she is finished with that event. Time for her to have fun & the challenge of a new event. A bit like the Kluft scenario.

The sad thing for us fans is we are at a time when there are some really talented women in the one lap, who will never be in the same race - Imagine a Budapest or Paris 400m final with SMU, SML, Paulino, Bol, Mu, Naser...that would be big.

Somebody else has already won 400m gold and 200m gold before, and somebody else probably will do it in the next 50 years. If SMU stuck to the 400m and won it a 3rd time, that would be something nobody else has ever done, and probably nobody else will do that in her lifetime.

A 3-peat in the 400m would be more historically significant than adding the 200m to her collection, but she's going to attempt the 200m anyway, and will fail to win it if Jackson and Steiner are injury-free and still focusing on the 200m in 2024. Not to mention any rising stars who haven't hit the big leagues yet.

I'd add Jackson - experience over one lap and added speed/speed reserve since last full 400m season.

                        • What do y'all reckon, Marita koch would have run in 2022 with the new shoes, tracks, better nutrition and other advancements in general? Still 47.6, slightly faster or a whole lot faster?

Depends on what you mean by "better nutrition"?
