I read on twitter, that Shericka said she wants to go back to the 400m soon when she's fit enough to run all three because she still has an unfinished business with the event. She said, she believes she can run 48.3 👀. Suddenly the event is starting to pick up again with Shericka's plausible comeback, femke Bol's 49.44, Sydney's 47.91 relay split, Paulino 49.20, Sada willaims 49.75, Cofil 49.80 and Naser's comeback next year if she can manage to get back to form.

Regarding the 400m, taking away SMU will obviously be a big loss, but add names like McLaughlin, Mu, Jackson and Naser as you noted, 2023 and/or 2024 could be the best ever.

There is an argument to be made that 2021 and 2022 have already been the greatest years for the 400m since the 1980s:

2022: 9 women ran sub-50 a total of 21 times (so far)
2021: 12 women ran sub-50 a total of 29 times
1988: 11 women ran sub-50 a total of 23 times
1984: 11 women ran sub-50 a total of 49 times

(As you can see, 1984 was wild. Time wise, were not even close as Koch's world lead of 48.16 brought 4 women sub-49 on 7 occasions through the year, along with 20 sub-49.50 times. That year was nasty)

Wouldn't they both be reasonable assumptions? A fast 800-runner to set the pace through 1000m at around 2:32 with the idea that Kipyegon might wish to follow. She may have a clause in her sponsorship contract that pays her well for the 1500 WR.

You could assume that but the poster stated it as fact.

Looking at the startlist Wilson is set to go 61 then 64's (61, 2:05 then 2:37 at 1000m) so it looks like the WR is not being attempted.

Since she broke the AR in 2018, Ive always kept an eye on her. Orji is younger but both are leading the way in US Triple Jumping!
