Dunno because there are no longer the clear cut "just sit out for 3 years" and you're good to go.

Now there's a review board with a lot of song and dance rules that still somehow seem to approve a lot transfers in each 6 months, including from CUB. I didn't see any refusals in a non-exhaustive look at recent published decisions but there were some conditional approvals.

Anyway, here's some background on our man.

His last National Representative Competition (I think that's the term) was 27 September 2019 at the Doha WC.

He continued to compete in Cuba until June 2021 before competing in Norway and then DNS at OG. Last year was all ITA and other Euro countries. Presumably he has been ex-CUB since July 2021 and resident in ITA and now citizen.

I couldn't see that he had already been given approval, conditional on gaining citizenship, so probably he will get that approval and a date next time they meet.

              Wow, that's like a 6.30 jump!

                • “Duplantis court plus vite que tout le monde et maîtrise parfaitement le piqué. Ce soir il est chronométré arrivant au sautoir à 10m/s soit 36km/h sans se servir de de ses bras pour courir et portant une perche de 2.5kg.”

He was running 10m/Sec at the end. I’ve never heard of a pole vaulter being that fast. Not even Bubka.

                    Speed kills.
At 5'11/175# he's not big enough (Lisek!) to get on the big stix he needs unless he is bringing the Big Heat.

                    • Who will break their new absolute WR next, Mondo or Crouser? Will Mondo save 6.23 for WC's? Will Crouser go big at June 16-17 Pre Classic ? I'm setting the Vegas line at -1.35 for Crouser.

That's a negative, shipmate. He was over by so far today, he can hike it twice more and then go 6.25 at WC.
If he gets a nice steady tailwind (1.5-2.0) outdoors, he could go 6.30 this year . . . easy.

Absolutely, l I know he can but is the financial motivation there or is he better off waiting for WC' ? Mondo & Company are pretty shrewd and may milk this world record thing slowly (once or twice a year) and then go big, 230+, in LA '28.

Crousers, got nothing 'to lose' going all out, outdoors?

Scary to think how fast Mondo can go/how high he could hold with a bit of tailwind and a little altitude : )

Thanks, forgot they moved it to September in 2023

                              Still keeping Crouser at -1.35

we’ve known for a long time that he is fast. I just didn’t realize that he is this fast.
