I had never heard of it until the scandal broke about a month ago, and I've been following track and XC for 40 years, including DIII.

After all of the athlete/coach/trainer/doctor/standing on scales/verbal berating abuse scandals of the past decade, my default was that either the institutions cleaned house or the abusers stopped their abusing for fear of the consequences.

Boy was I wrong. Which means its probably still going on somewhere as I type this.

Wouldn't be the first sex scandal/or sex/coaching scandal at a Christian College. What's crazy is how he continued to somehow still be "around" the program.

INDIANAPOLIS – Fallout from the Huntington University scandal continued Monday.

The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced the Oct. 22 semistate scheduled for the HU course has been relocated. The semistate instead will be run at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Following Nicholas Johnson’s termination in 2020, several additional policies, procedures and personnel were added to our operations to provide additional oversight such as an Athletic Ombudsperson Policy, refined travel policies, treatment policies, and facility usage policies, to name a few.

One thought I might have had if I was someone in charge at the time is not hiring the guys wife as coach. Just a quibble.

One of the issues, whenever there is a scandal (sports of otherwise) at small, evangelical universities and colleges is their tendency toward "inbreeding," either denomination-wise, or with alumni, or both when it comes to hiring. Nicholas Johnson and his wife were ïnsiders"and alumni, hence the special treatment and ""initial "protection. HU might want to take their bios off their website... like yesterday.
