She's still not ready," said Wells. "In another three weeks she should be ready to make an appearance.
Not ready for what LJ,400? Will she ever run sub 11.10 again?

I would have to work for a 55 quarter right now.

You're too young to be old and fat like the rest of us!

Good point, but I noticed that you did not include out of shape. As you already now, talent can only take you so far, before it eventually disappears.

Back to that 55 quarter, yes, I am still young, skinny, and have some talent to run that time. Unfortunately, I would have to run my butt off to do it.

I beg to differ. Talent never disappears, thats the beauty of it. You either got it or you dont. Now, everything else eventually goes, no doubt about it.

Talent is like matter, you can't create or destroy it. You can ignore and waste it though. And you cant borrow it, otherwise i would ask 747, " Excuse me sir, i noticed you have the talent to run 45.7 and seeing as your not running competively right now, would you lend me some speed brother? Im just gonna use it to super charge my kick at the end of my 19:30 5k-thanx!"
                    phsstt!

I see what you are saying about talent, but I could ask you the same thing so I can have a steady pace for the 5k run (I go under 19:00). Going by your point of view, I will always run fast. Therefore, training added to talent will make me run fast for a longer distance (duh). No problem!

You may not always run fast even though you have talent to do so. Think of an incredibly gifted guitar player who never plays, never practices. If you asked him to play something he wouldnt sound very good.

Anywhos- i will, out of the goodness of my heart, trade my 15 minute 5k talent for your 45.7 400 talent! :P

No thanks, I could not get used to some "Average Joe" beating me in a sprint. Also, I do not run miles competively because I think there are more people who can run a 15:00-5k than a 45.7-400m. So, I will take my chances in the shorter distances.
