  • Winds were alternating between 100 tail & tail for LJ according to 2 coaches there. The 22 jump had over a 3.5 roughly 1 said. Wind is seen lifting and blowing the sand when she lands. HS meet officials notoriously think excessive winds are legal. But Beckman is an immense talent headed to a great jumps career at Illinois & beyond

    • Thanks for that info, Sprintdoc. Until recently, she had a PR of just over 20 feet. Do you have any insight into the sudden increase in her marks? Is it something as simple as finally managing to avoid fouls on what were previously big but unmeasured jumps?

        Dadzie's time was 19.79. Still a JC record (beating Bednarek's 19.82).

              • Poor weather is putting it mildly for the 200 where the video shows gusty head winds full of hail. Temp was 40 degrees! What could she run if warm? But she was aided by racing boys. Winning the 100 and a close 3rd in 200.

Incredible ... I would have probably predicted Burns a little slower in his first big track 5k (13:45-50), but guess it shouldn't be shocking given his progress across the board. He paced it pretty well (evenly), it appears, and closed hard in 63-61. With 800 to go, he and Gorze were even, but Gorze finished 66-66. That's 3 preps 13:45 or better this spring.

                    • Gatlin Bair 20.47 (-0.1w) in Utah. This is the number 2 high school time in the country.
He is just a junior, but is giving up the sport after this season to focus on football.

Uncle Phil, throw some NIL T&F money at him now, while he still doesn't understand delayed gratification yet.

She actually already ran a legal 10.92 this season, a few weeks ago - # 5 a-t World U20, trailing only SCR 10.75, Tamara Davis 10.83, Gohr and Krabbe.

                              • I wonder if Lex Young is regretting not running at Mt SAC.

Then again, for all I know he may be preparing to run 13:28 at UCLA at the end of the month.
