  • Mia Brahe-Pedersen ran wind legal 11.11 and 22.71 in the prelims of the Oregon State Championships.

    • Assuming all is in order, the 11.11 breaks Marion Jones' national record from 1992. And the 22.71 puts her within shouting distance of Felix' record in the 200.

You're talking NFHS records, right? Numerous faster performances from preps on the T&FN list, overall. Brahe-Pedersen herself ran 11.08 in a prep meet this year... but maybe that was the one vs. boys...

        • 4x200m at Oregon Relays last month that I didn't notice mentioned in the the thread.

I guesstimate the anchor handoff splits at 1:15.5 for Wilson High of Long Beach and 1:18.0 for Brahe-Pederson.

21.8 for B-P vs 24.4 for Wilson = one tenth win for Lake Oswego. Again, guesstimate.

          • Steve, I am indeed referring to the federation records. Since I do the records for the CIF-SS and "consult" for the CIF, those are the records that drive my universe. (While not, of course, ignoring the overall records.)

As I posted before, the rule specifies excessive celebration.
THAT is not excessive - seems quite appropriate. Certainly not taunting.

                          • It’s a shame they’ve cancelled the global U18 meets. The only people who benefited from that are the Euro U18 athletes. Just not deep enough elsewhere.

just a guess, but I also suspect WA was having trouble finding viable hosts.

                              • Angelina Napoleon of Allegany-Limestone in NY (in my h.s. league) just ran a 6:19 2k steeple, setting another HSR I believe. I think someone else ran faster than her old HSR earlier this year but the 6:19 is faster than than. https://ny.milesplit.com/meets/51946...s-2023/results
