    And now you have a new one at 100m -- Mia B-P ran 11.00 with a 1.5 (and a legal 22.65 to boot)!!! 3, 3 on the T&FN list

Mia B-P turns 18 before year end (November) per her WA profile, so I don't think she qualifies as U18.

Steve, the biggest problem with some of the federation records is simply getting them submitted, let alone ratified. There are three CIF records that are superior to the listed national record.

I am hoping against hope to get some or all of those cleared up this summer. The people in the loop recognize the issue and are supportive, but the to-do list is too long for too many people. And once I have to get non-California federations involved, some of them are . . . . well, I'll stop there.

          Ah yes! Barely missed it

She sure ran well just now! 4:33.45 to win by 6 seconds!

Holy cow, didn't see this earlier! Talk about taking your record back with a vengeance!

Edit: Look at this photo and tell me if you've ever seen anyone clear a steeplechase barrier like this!
Angelina Napoleon of Allegany-Limestone (NY) reset the high school and U20 national record in the 2K steeplechase in New York.

Steve, it was clearly a record attempt as she went out in 2:13+. That last 400 was a hard one.

In other events, Dijon Stanley wins the 400, 45.77, over Xai Ricks 46.06. Great battle, joined with about 230 to go and Stanley got away a bit in the last 35-40 meters.

                • In Clovis, Rodrick Pleasant wins the 100 in 10.20 +2.0, FINALLY breaking the meet record from 1990 that we overwhelmingly suspect was wind-aided. Jordan Washington second in 10.30, equalling the old record.

So Pleasant's hamstring held together. We'll see if he appears for the 200.

                  • 300H in Clovis is not a super-fast race, but top 3 37.432, 37.435, 37.437.

                    • And in the 200, Pleasant completes the double-double. 20.67 over 400 champ Stanley at 20.95. I'm told these two have been friends and rivals since their age-group days.

In the girls 300h, we had Kaylin Edwards of LB Wilson as an upset winner in 41.67. That time probably puts her about 8th on the all-time LB Wilson list.

Looks like she's been practicing over the full height men's 110H!

                        • Just over 3 weeks after he ran 8:41.50 for 3200, Michigan distance star Benne Anderson (GR Ottawa Hill senior) took another serious run at sub-8:40 last night at the Distance Night Under the Lights meet in GR. Finished in 8:40.90, winning by more than 30 seconds. His state meet is next Saturday.

Benne has told Jeff Hollobaugh that he won't be at any post-season national meets (except German champs!) due to some post-graduation vacation plans: Read the whole interview here (scroll down): https://michtrack.beehiiv.com/p/9-fo...around-athlete

Also, he didn't run indoors at all, so he's still relatively fresh this season, I'd say. Made sense, then, to go for a super fast time on a perfect late spring night, even w/o real competition.
