Don't know if this young man can repeat or better his performance in the finals because he is running the 200 meter prelims in the morning in heat 68 of 68.

Harbor is one of the fastest players in the country and is slated to be in Eugene for a visit this weekend.

HS results vs. pros at the Sander meet @ the Armory ... Shawnti Jackson just misses her new record with 36.73 in 300. Gorriaran just misses Whittaker's HSR in 1k, running 2:39.83 behind Ajee Wilson and Sage Hurta (they missed AR).

Meanwhile, Roderick Pleasant, featured on the home page as the top returning HS 100m talent, signed with the Oregon Ducks, also to best continue track & field along with football.
Gardena Serra High speedster Rodrick Pleasant announced Wednesday that he has committed to Oregon. He plans to play football and run track for the Ducks.

Perhaps you are joking, but for people in Columbia South Carolina he DID commit to USC.

There was a big legal fight between the two schools re: the use of "USC" and their respective logos. So it *is* a big deal to both schools.
A note re: Pleasant's commitment to the Ducks - I know their coaching situation was in a bit of a state of flux, has that been resolved?
The word is that Pleasant wanted to go to USC, but his family insisted on taking Phil's bag of money. I didn't see it, but I've read that he did not look happy making the announcement.

I saw the video and he looked quite happy. Certainly his family was. And what is wrong with that.
