Doesn't the Mountain Pacific conference meet usually draw most or all of the PAC-12 schools? They don't seem to be contesting it this year and it's also a week earlier than the other Power 5 types.

Makes you wonder if she can stay in Texas beyond this year as I think Floreal transitioned all his pros to other coaches this year?
Correct, he has no more pro athletes in his group. (T. Daniels to Dennis Mitchell, Prandini + Harrison to Bobby Kersee, Kori Carter retired earlier in 2022)
O'Sullivan is Sophie O'Sullivan---interesting for at least two reasons.
She's the daughter of Sonia O'Sullivan!
And in the NCAA XC race of 2020-21(??), she suffered the same fate as Cooper Teare that same year---legs turning to jelly and finishing near last place!!
That was too much ground to spot Amina Maatoug. I thought she needed 5 seconds over Tuohy. They gave her more than that. Very poor middle legs by North Carolina State and very solid 800 from the Duke freshman Tolbert.
Maatoug seems best suited to 1500 instead of 800, which she'll run in this meet and which has always been her primary distance. I saw an interview she did in the Netherlands last winter in which she self-evaluated and thought she would eventually switch to 1500. Once she arrived at Duke in the fall she emphasized that the training was totally different. Maatoug said in the Netherlands she has very sporadic interaction with coaches and the schedule they gave her was primarily speed work. At Duke she said it's the first time she's ever had coaching every day, and training is heavily focused on endurance.
She'll need foundation because she's entered in both the 800 and 3000.
Duke is doing a good job of international recruiting. I know they signed one of the top Great Britain stars from the U18 championships last year. I think she'll be a freshman next year.
