For thoes who have been sleeping on Adeleke (9th place at worlds, 5th place at Euros) Its time to WAKE UP.
She could very well win both the 200 and 400 at NCAAs this year.

I don't think anybody is sleeping on her after those relay legs last summer. She became so well known after prelims the cameraman twice shifted attention to her during the final, even though she was well back in the pack. That was third leg. There was so much attention to Adeleke the announcer failed to notice that Helena Ponette of Belgium was running a freakish all time best during that leg to surge Belgium into the lead.

I dont doubt that, but most people here are American so are definitely less familiar.

Agree with your point about Adeleke.

At the risk of veering off topic, this is an example of a statistical pet peeve of mine. Running a non-qualifying 4th in the semi-finals (fastest non-qualifier) does not mean someone was 9th place in the World Championships. To me, only finishers in the final earn a place.

your peeve is justified. 9th means nowt. Just did not make the final

Yeah. That was predictable and unfortunate.

Hard to fathom that the OG/WC Gold Medalist was the only one to have broken 2!.

Only 15 U.S. women have done so indoors.

                              Juliette Whittaker 2:00.32 in 2nd.

According to WA she goes 3rd on the World all-time U20 indoor list behind Mu and Hodgkinson.
