I think green means their projected final position is higher than it was after the previous event and red that it was lower (black=no change).

Trickstat explained it correctly. As I wrote in the first update:

For example, initially I projected that Vetter will finish fourth in the heptathlon. After the 100 hurdles, I projected that she will finish third. So in that update, her name is colored green, to indicate a positive change in projected rank.

              • I think Hall is heading for around 7060 and number 2 all time.
KJT doing well, her best since Doha. She hit hurdle 3 and 5, otherwise she would have probably had another 70pts.

                    • His early (Aussie) form was a bit of a worry but that 400 by Ash (though not near his PB) shows he is nearly back to his best.

                      Comment

                      • Ash saying in his post-race interview his decathlon goal is to 'no longer compete like 'someone with no brain'. Despite being half a second slower than he would have liked over 400m, still thinks he may be on target for a total score of 8600 (well above DavidO's prediction).

Hall saying she is just hoping for a good night's sleep.

                        • Looking at the way Koščak is improving across the board, she might be heading for something close to 6500 here! No U18 athlete has ever broken 6200 with senior implements, and even with junior ones, the world best is just 6301. With her rate of progress, I wonder whether she might not be a medal threat as soon as Paris next year.

Sułek is 47 points behind her Eugene schedule, but she has improved in LJ since then and I hope her JT will be better as well (hard to tell yet, as she hasn't competed in it this year, but there's surely a lot of space for improvement), so a NR is definitely a possibility. Her HJ was sub-par today, but she said on Twitter she's just a bit heavier at this stage of the season and she would get it sorted out before Budapest. She's finally got it right in SP after struggling with it indoors and she was pretty close to her best in the sprints, so overall, she's in a good place. Historically, her form would always improve significantly as the season progresses, so I can see a really big score for her at the WC. She actually said she was going for 7000 this year, which may be a stretch... But then again, I thought the same thing when she talked about breaking the world indoor record.

I've been watching Anna since she was a soph in high school and known her and her folks since she came to Cuba with us at the NSAF. Just when I think I can't be amazed any more by what she's done, she again tops herself. What a first day!!! (two extra exclamation points for aaronk wherever you are)

                              # 2 all-time ... just mind-boggling to think about! As far off as 7291 still is, I can't help think about something JJK and Anna have in common, great 400H chops! Many of you remember JJK's 55.20 from back in the day, I know.
