Used to be everyone learned this from their parents, but when we tossed the family out the window fifty years ago, it's not happening so much. Or you learn it on your own after a few bruises.

Reading "The Night Watch" by British historical fiction writer Sarah Waters, after finishing two of her earlier books (Tipping the Velvet, Fingersmiths). Very well written WWIi fiction.

Nah. Some people are clearly wired differently than the majority of us. Exists within my own family with the same set of parents and upbringing.

No father in her life, and her mother lost custody (she ended up being raised by her aunt and grandmother), so she didn't get the parental guidance she should have received. But at this point she's had the time, money and opportunity to get the help she needs, and either hasn't sought it or she refused to learn from it.

You pretty much nailed it. She was receiving guidance and mentorship when she was in Baton Rouge, but unfortunately "friends" of her family convinced her to leave it behind after she turned pro.

Hopefully in the future 18 year olds with her kind of talent can look at college/NIL income as an alternative to becoming a full-time pro with all the challenges that go with it. It's easier to behave on a flight when you're with a dozen teammates in coach.

I've been on my share of plane flights and never needed teammates or coaches or Miss Manners to help me out in the proper airplane comportment department - just a dose of resignation for the discomforts of modern travel and the usual common sense . . .

Yep, it never pays to piss off a cop. I've never had one let me off the hook for anything but also never taunted one into going bad-cop on me either.

Too much negativity and constant tragedies around her.
She needs real guidance and mentorship as jazzcyclist said.
