I was one who offered this opinion and I think it is largely true that athletes will stick with the shortest distance they can have the most success with. As with anything, there are exceptions to this rule.

Interesting Bol is opening her season here. I wonder how much New Balance pressured her into running (or how much €€)?
As it's her opening race, anything under 1:08 and I would be happy. Under 1:07 would be great. The World Best in this event is still pretty tasty, but let's see. Krasnomovets-Forsheva used to employ the typical Russian approach, blast from the gun & hold on. Zaytseva (Number 2) less so, but still went out hard. Bol appears to have more endurance than the two.
