Geb - Should have - could have - would have
Having just seen full, uninterrupted footage of Van Damme with the whole 10000 [thank you Rupert Murdoch] i have to say that Geb could have done it, he is still physically capable and had his two opponents given him a hand in the 8th and 9th kilometre he would have dome it, to see Geb run about 82 seconds for the last 600 and dig deep to hold of young Kosgei only illustrated the guys greatness and heart. For US fans, Kennedy got lapped after about 22 minutes and ran alone for a long way but many of those who ran in Paris struggled. Oh yeah, El G, Ayhan, Bungei and the 800 hordes, Shaheen and Tulu and Gatlin all ran at least seasonal prs, what a meetTags: None

Re: Geb - Should have - could have - would have
I think Geb could've should've would've won the world 10 title if he wasn't so unselfish in running for his country. If Bekele had done the pace setting instead of Geb (as Bekele was forced to do in the 5) Geb would have been the one pouncing on the 10k title. Geb sacrificed individual glory for Ethiopia.
His time last night gives this thought much credibility.
Geb is still the man. He is positioned well for next summer. Amazing!

Re: Geb - Should have - could have - would have
After the Paris 10K Geb said he "knew" going in that he didn't have the finishing sharpness he'd need (that killer last 200) to beat Bekele. He had no regrets about taking the unselfish route and setting the pace, since, as you note, he was doing so for his Ethiopian teammate. However, he made it clear he's extremely motivated for Athens and said, with his usual smile, "This is the 2003 model Haile. Next year you will see the 2004." He clarified that he believes he still has it in him to produce the trademark kick of old.
