    Don't you mean show the stranger the Gatlin article, force him to read it and then ask the question? Assuming i don't get kicked out before I can ask the question.

      Sadly, yes. I did mention it to my wife, who is from PENSACOLA!!! (JG's hometown, albeit long before he came on the scene), and there was a glimmer of recognition in her eye as she said, "So he broke Michael Johnson's record?" I was about to just say, 'yes, dear' when I decided to mention that MJ didn't run the 100 per se, but she interupted me and said, 'oh no, he has the 200 and 400 records!'

      Made my day! :-)

          Naturally, I told my wife in a very excited way. Then I showed her the New York Times I purchased. She said, "That's very nice, Honey. Are you gonna go talk to your track geek friends about it now?" (emoticon needed here)

          I told her firmly, "Those geeks are NOT my friends!"

          Sorry guys. I sold you out under the pressure.

                  What limelight? Certainly not in the Phoenix area. Gatlin and Kastor were barely mentioned on pages 3 or 4 of the sports pages. The fact that the Arizona State women won their first ever Pac-10 championship only got 2 short paragraphs at the bottom of page 10 of the sports pages.

                    I emailed someone who used to work for me...His response was to give me a hard time about scanning the boards on company time. I try to keep the non-track fans informed -- they just don't care. But, I'm the same about NASCAR, Hockey and non-Tiger Golf

                    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++

                    Shouldn't you be working instead of looking at track and field things...you aren't in the military anymore so you can't slack off.
                    haha

                            mojo will find out ( & when she scurries away contacting her countlesss sources, let her inform her main "informant" that the non-expected guy is hoping to turn up tomorrow, instead of friday )

                              I suspect the average person doesn't want to be the kind of pain in the ass who bores his friends with his obscure hobby. Track is a religion to most of us, but that doesn't mean we should be out going out banging on doors trying to sell our passion to others.

                                First, the Fuller Brush Man, then the Jehovah's Witnesses, and now . . . Track & Fieldists at your door!

                                I suddenly have the urge to go the airport, put on an orange robe, shave my head, and chant, "Oooooooooom . . . gatlin . . . powell . . . jooooooooooones . . ."
