  • Gatlin vs Powell...theory

If they just get off the bus and run. I favor Powell. If rounds are contested and a Championship is at stake, it's all Justin Gatlin. I can see Powell winning most of these invites. Then getting beat when it really counts. Gatlin is the stronger sprinter. He's a Champion.

I watched Powell's 9.77 right behind Gatlin's 9.76. I have to be honest, Powell 's run was more impressive.

I went to school with a guy who would would run guys down on the anchor of our 4x1 then lose to them in the 100. He would tell me..."I can't let the team down".....hmmm? Gatlin appears to be like that. The big races he can't let himself down.

Don't put a whole hell of a lot into invitational events. Championships is what it's all about.

Yes, but because of the publicity and the money, any race against Powell right now is going to be a big race. And I think Gatlin will know that.

In general, I agree with that. But again, I believe this next race will get everyone's adrenaline going as normally only a major International championship will.

I might have a simple explanation for him. Lousy starter, perhaps?
