  • 9.77!

Unfortunately, I think we need yet another thread about Gatlin's 9.76. The IAAF has announced that the time was 9.77 after all!

however, he knows from that race he's got a lot more in the tank, so he shoud get over this disappointment quickly

      Wow!!

Controversial is putting it mildly... I was laughing at some of the conspiracy theorists, and will happily gorge on humble pie now.

How incompetent could the officials have been? Rounding the times up is a very basic concept in T&F and required knowledge for obtaining even the lowest-level officiating license (at least where I come from).

Judging by the photo, all the other times from that race should have been 0.01 slower as well - Fasuba 9.85, Crawford 10.09 etc.

It's all just contrived to make a showdown even more lucrative and sensational! What could be better than the CO-record-holders going at each other? I smell a rat! :-)

Gatlin did NOT run 9.77, he ran 9.766 and was rounded. You ever been rounded?

Far more screw-ups are caused by simple incompetence than complicated conspiricies. This looks like a case of the former, to me.
