Asafa to run in the Golden League 100m in Europe

Asafa's coach (Franno) has confirmed that Asafa will run in the Golden League 100m this summer.

The Golden League consists of the 6 biggest track meets in Europe.

It begins June 2nd in Olso. Asafa will be there. Gatlin will running in the Rebook NY Grand Prix instead on June 3rd. Fair enough.

We will see if Gatlin has the XXXXX to show up in the same 100m(same race, same heat) at the other Golden League meets this season. I really hope that the meet organizers don't accomodate Gatlin by putting him in a separate race because that would be BS and not good for t he sport.

If Gatlin doesn't up at the other GL meets, we will know who is ducking who.

Enough said.

I posted a thread yesterday about spoilers to Bekele's claim to a million dollars in the Golden League. I guess you're saying Powell could be one.

Now, regarding the recurring "ducking" theme. Gatlin shares the WR with Powell. Gatlin is the World Champion. Gatlin is the Olympic Champion. Gatlin won their last head-to-head meeting.

Seems to me if Powell wants to race Gatlin, he should go where Gatlin is - not the other way around. Let Powell be the pursuer.

Other than the upcoming US meets, Gatlin has not indicated where he is going to run in Europe because he wants to "duck" Asafa. Now we are hearing that Gatlin doesn't want to run in the same race as Asafa at Gatestead.

As I have said, if Gatlin has any "balz", he will show up in the same races/heats in the mens 100m at the Golden League races. That's where Asafa will be.

Now, where will Gatlin be again? lol

We could just as easily say that Powell is ducking Gatlin. You're suggesting that if these two are not in the same race, then Justin must be ducking Asafa. That's a leap in logic, and completely fallacious.

I happen to believe that neither one is ducking the other. You're trying too hard to insert some extra, unneeded drama. But again, Gatlin is the champ. Powell should go where he is if it's gotta be all that.

Thus, the GL meets could be a much more significant component of Powell's bottom line than Gatlin's.

with those latter 2 titles, the golden league means a hill of beanz compared

gatlin right now is the biggest name in the sport - the new "King" & "Kings" don't chase pretenders - gatlin sets his own schedule, irrespective of what golden league meets are going on
