i'd like to hear from everyone who cares to participate, just because i'm curious. what is YOUR favorite event, either to follow, compete, or both, and what is YOUR best mark in that event?

george loves the triple jump--an amazing feat of man. personally, george only jumps 45-3 though, but i (i mean "he") love(s) it.

PR in my own event: my "log-in" handle says it all, both as to event and mark, from 1965...pre- Fosbury.

favorite event to watch :

track: 200 m. Wathing 'em fan out of the turn is way cool.
field: take a guess, but the PV is good too, as is the shot put if you're up close and personal.

But ALL the T & F events are great, some just more than others.

yeah, finally a mention of the vault. nothing compairs, although i love to watch every event in track with the exception of the walks.

To watch:
nearly all of them, but to pick a favorite...I'd say the 200 or the hammer--if you're there.

To do:
Discus: 144-10 (HS Discus)
400: 51.04 (I used to love to run the 400 in HS, but I'm not in 400 shape anymore, so I feed my hunger to run with the 100: 11.49 and the 200: 23.18)

My own fav is the 4x400, you get multiple great races going on within the same event.

oops, when I said the 200, I forgot "the mile relay", and yep, it comes first, no doubt.

The horizontal jumps (21'3 and 41'2 from HS), the hurdles, the sprints, and the 800 (22.0 - 200, 48.5 - 400, 38.2 - 300 hurdles, 1:59.2 - 800 from
HS).

I don't compete anymore, but I get a great kick out of watching these events as much as time will allow.
