After a three-year absence from the elite scene, LaTasha Jenkins popped back up at the Greensboro meet last weekend. A 23.22/52.97 double, so not a bad return after such a long layoff.

Think she said she had lost her passion for the sport, and she could likely - pending a successful comeback - be a one-lap phenom.Comment

I could be wrong, but my recollection is taht the "lost passion" retirement was a different thing. We reported in the June '04 issue--without citing why--that she had retired.Comment

Pitty she quit in the first place, considering her great 01 season, she could have progressed to being an Athens Medalist!!
Shame she only won her 01 Bronze medal after KW was DQ'd, never got to experience the podium!
I thought she quit at the end of the 01 season, and from what I've read, it was mainly because she knew certain athletes were juiced and was incredibly discouraged.......Comment
