This is a perfect example of the kind of meet that must survive in order to maintain track's popularity in Europe. People living near Rovereto (about 45 minutes north of Verona by train) have few opportunities to see live meets. This one features many good Italian athletes, the most prominent of whom is Gibilisco, the PV winner in Paris. Seeing this one meet per year might keep people interested in track enough to watch other meets on TV, buy an athletics magazine, etc.
