I thought it was great fun. At least he didn't put the meet 30 minutes behind schedule. A certain Bulgarian high jumper competes in barely more than that anyway.

There's a website out there that has online video of streakers at sports events. Will Lobinger qualify?

Technically, maybe he was, but I watched it on TV and failed to see anything underneath the shorts...

Some articles said he had a G-string on. So he was sorta wearing undies...

Hmmm, women's soccer players (& men) run around in their underwear to celebrate in almost every game - no problem. Track star runs around in undies & loses $5G. Pretty stupid.......

Maybe next time he should just PV in his jock. Put a Nike logo on it and call it a uniform.

Yes, take away $30,000 for showing us something we see in our popular culture virtually every single day. And the audience in the stadium was SOOOO offended they booed him incessantly, right? You must be up for Prissy Police Captain. Yes, it was inappropriate, but even $5K was too much.

In Canada, where we actually take this sort of thing a little more seriously and actions have consequences, we negate the performance. Here is what should happen:

    1st-gone
    30k-gone

How can anyone call a $5000 fine punishment?

My local (Austrian) paper reports a $5000 fine. That's half of his advantage over second place. Does that mean that his Monte Carlo performance will be considered "first-and-a-half" place for the world rankings?!?!? hahahaha

Just heard on Eurosport that he may be fined $5,000 by the IAAF, but no final decision has yet been made.

The Moscow meet is on the 20th September, I think.

And as far as I know, there's been nothing done re: Lobinger.

Were there any consequences for Lobinger's "moon" in Monte Carlo? When I go to the relevant thread my computer crashes...

Also, WHEN is this famous Moscow meet? I couldn't even find this on their website.
