Re: Athens 4X100
That lineup would be devestating. How about Edwards starting,Jones 2nd, White 3rd(ran some great curves in the 200 this year), and Gaines last.Gaines is reliable and fast in the last 50. Edwards has been a great starter in races this year. Jones on the longest leg and White has been spectacular in the curve part of the 200.

Re: Athens 4X100
4x100 relays are mostly about baton exchanges. If it was about inidividual speed, the French would never have beaten the US (even White-less), and the likes of Belarus and Belgium would never have made the Paris final.
The US women will not break the WR unless they start practising for the relay on a regular basis the way the successful European teams do.Było smaszno, a jaszmije smukwijne...

They did choose 4 sprinters out of this group in Paris... guess what, no sub-38 :-pByło smaszno, a jaszmije smukwijne...

Re: Athens 4X100
This combination will break the World Record by the 2004 Olympics if allowed to work together throughout the season to perfect exchanges. In the past there appeared to be some personality conflicts that they all have to put aside to work together. To see them begin Mt Sac or/and the Penn Relays would be spectacular. Next year's olympics are going to be something else as for sprinting on both the men's and women's sides. For that matter, the Olympic Trials are going to be great too. I can't wait!!

Re: Athens 4X100
I sorta meant in the Oly Final, meaning I think that no matter who we run, we will win in under 38. Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but I think the rest of the world realizes that the US is always the favorite and it's ours 'not to lose.'
