Track and Field is rising in popularity on the legs of Gatlin and Powell rivarlry, with that said shouldn't the top sport game companies put and track and field title? Racing Gatlin and Powell in any sprint, at any race or series, match or full field, a solid track and field title could increase track and field's mass appeal even more than the Gatlin Powell drama. Complete with full season indoor and outdoor and the top world class athletes around, our sport needs a solid video game title.

There have been many versions of T&F video games. I remember the first, by Konami I think, back in '82 or '83 It had only 6 events, but was addicting nonetheless!

"International Track & Field" was released for Nintendo and Sony PS in 2000. Nothing's come out since then.

The game was called "Track & Field" and was t&f only, as was "Decathlon" by Activision and "Daley Thompsons Decathlon" by Ocean, but sadly very few games have been exclusively t&f since. Most games have had an olympic theme in the vein of the "Summer Games" series by Epyx.

The Track & Field coin-operated Videogame by Konami (circa 1983, and it's history and background, photos, repair help, manuals, for sale and wanted lists, and census survey), and it's history and background, photos, repair help, manuals, for sale and wanted lists, and census survey is brought to you by The International Arcade Museum at the Museum of the Game.

Playstation brought out Athens 2004 2 years ago. You can use those 'dance mats' with it, so you run on the spot instead of tapping on buttons. Sadly, I have personal experience with this.

The Sydney Olympics T&F game came out for PCs. It had decent graphics. I still remember my german female athlete clearing 2.68 in the high jump.
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

That would be fantastic! Do you mean like a football (soccer) manager game?

I suggested it on another forum but what are the chances?

I have the Athens 2004 game and the 800m and 1500m are awful. In the 800m, the start isn't stagger so you're in lane 4 and you have to run further than the athletes in 1,2 and 3, and it's not really a race because you end up winning by about 5 seconds and usually, you end up going through the bell in 63 seconds because if you go any faster, the athlete gets knackered, and it;s unrealistic because you end up running lap 1 in 63, then the second in something absurd like 51 secs and the rest of the field never go with you.

The 800 and 1500m are so easy to win but the rest is all right

Unfortunately, it's beginning to look like a video game may be our only opportunity to see this race! >:-)

My favorite game is unquestionable "Track and Field" for the original Nintendo console. Came out in the mid-80s as an console version of the arcade game by Konami. Don't know what Archery and Skeet Shooting have to do with track and field, but it's an old school button smasher!

I once had a joystick which had turbo capability, which allowed me to run a 6.36 100m, and triple jump almost 90 feet. Good times.
