X-Man signed with Nike through 2012!!

Is this unprecedented? Did he sell himself short if he DOES fulfill his potential? How much must this be for? (I'll guess 1-2 Megabucks) Is this mostly just the Nickname (still cool - 5 more bonus points)?

Question: What does one shoe company have to offer over another - apart from possible length of contract - which is significant enough to sign their prospects?

Speaking of shoes, check out Jenny Kallur:s spikes for this meet:

        Edit: spelling mistake.

Speaking of "cool" shoes... I remember that the shoes Komen wore in his '97 5000 wr at Brussels (and maybe elsewhere, I'm not sure) were different color on the left and right sides...so that, when viewed from the side, it looked as if he was wearing two different shoes. Is that still a fashion "thing" in spikes?

At least three wearing them in this picture of the 1500m. They didn't do ElG much good.
