Definitely the greatest moment in Canadian women's track history. Hope she tops it next year.

Yes, she is Canadian and one of the best athletes I've watched in a long time. The accolades do go to her University, also! You can't eliminate the coaching she received there to get her to this point. She is remaining with her collegiate coach. Enjoyed her interview on Trackshark.

Definitely thanks owed to Gary Winckler her coach at Illinois. I remember picking up the Toronto Star 4 or 5 years ago and glancing through the OFSSAA results (Ontario high school championships). I noticed someone named Perdita Felicien had won the senior girls 100 hurdles (33", not 30") in 13.41, and nearly dropped the paper. Watched her on local news tonight, she was honoured by her hometown of Pickering (just outside Toronto, also home to our nuclear power plants), very generously signed dozens of autographed posters for fans young and old - despite a very bad sore throat and only speaking in a hoarse whisper. She said her future goals include the World Record and the Olympic Gold. I wish her the best in achieving both. She's a very poised and bright young woman who reminds me of Evelyn Ashford.
