So, she is ranked third in the 100m and is therefore eligible for Stuttgart.
She cannot be barred from this or any other meet? Is Stuttgart different than other major European meets which refused to contract with her (although she wasn't competitive the last two years, in any case). because it's under the aegis of the IAAF rather than private meet promoters?

I would think that the IAAF, based upon the link to their site provided here, is doing everything it can to stall her and make it physically impossible to run this Sunday. Even if she ran, she might pull, with the attention and perhaps very negative crowd vibes (pure conjecture on my part). If the IAAF disputes the test, she's effectively through for this year. My prediction: lawsuit a la Butch Reynolds is coming. The IAAF will pay an enormous undisclosed amount. They cannot play by their own rules in this one.

As I understand it, she is now considered clean. If the IAAF disputes it and brings it to CAS she is OK until the current situation is overturned.

On the other hand, you might mean that promotors will not include her in the meets. I think that it has been indicated that her doing WAF/WCup depend on the qualifications, not the promoters.

The way Sherone Simpson has been running of late, putting Jones in the race might just mean the U.S. entrant finishes a closer 2nd :-)

Note that if not Jones, the pecking order is
Williams (hurt)
Edwards (running poorly)
Smith (hasn't run since July)
Lee (hasn't run since July)
M. Barber (hasn't run since USATF)
Durst (hasn't been running too badly)

The Ameircan running best of late (typically 2nd to Simpson) is L. Barber, but she didn't run at USATF at all, so I assume she can't be on the team.

If she is second, so be it. I would be happy to see her run.

You (or even Marion Jones) can fly out of Raleigh-Durham at 3:15pm on Thursday and get to Stuttgart at 9:10am on Friday. Women's 100 meters is the last event on the schedule on Sunday.

I hope there's room on the plane for the US sports writers who wouldn't have even thought about covering the Stuttgart meet, but who will now turn it (and perhaps the World Cup as well) into a Marion Jones media circus.

I also hope she chooses not to run those meets, and I'm sure so do the organizers of both meets.
