I have a great advantage as a track fan in living in Europe. But a disadvantage is not having the chance to see US athletes. I saw Jennifer Stuczynski jump for the first time today. Beautiful technique, even on descent. Her final attempt at 4.70/15-5 was oh-so-close.

Why did Isi change coaches? She is nowhere near her form of the last years.

She figured she was a grown-up now. He didn't see it that way. At least that's my take on the situation.

Sometimes you have to get worse before you can get better. She had an excellent top end before, but her takeoff was not perfect. If she can figure out the takeoff Petrov is trying to teach her (which takes TIME, especially as he has changed her run), she will set herself up to do even better on top of the pole.

Give her another year or two before judging her coaching change a mistake.
