Pedestrial death... that was a tragic story. -

The famous Russian runner Yuriy Borzakovskiy, the 2004 Olympic champion in the 800 meter run, on the night from 30 September to 1 October was involved in an automobile accident in which a man perished. Yuriy Borzakovskiy’s personal trainer, Vyacheslav Yevstratov reported this to the "Vyes sport" agency.
"Early on the morning of 1 October Yuriy and his wife Irina were returning from his parents home in their Honda Accord (the police report lists the time as 12:05 AM)," described Yevstratov. "On Gagarin street, in a place without any crosswalk, a man unexpectedly stepped out in front of the car. Yuriy attempted to swerve, but could not avoid the collision. They were not going very fast – 60 kph according to the police report. Borzakovskiy suffered a broken finger and a break of the radiocarpal joint in his wrist. His wife Irina has severe scrapes on her leg and arm. The car is also damaged. Naturally, Yuriy immediately called for an ambulance and police. The man was taken to the hospital, where, to our great regret, he passed away."
Vyacheslav Yevstratov says that after learning about the death of the victim, Mikhail Sinitsyn, in the hospital, Borzakovskiy experienced shock. "Now examinations into the blood alcohol content are being conducted – both the victim’s and Yuriy’s – but I am confident in Yuriy, who generally doesn’t put spirits into his mouth. It is sad that this has happened so, but now it is important that everything be analyzed without hysterics," said Yevstratov.Comment
