Finally on the Newshour tonight and it took the baseball results to do it. They asked representatives of MLB and the players' association to appear on the show and they declined. Verducci from SI was on and he was pretty good. Basically said the punishments were pretty weak and talked about the lack of independence in testing, the possibly chemically enhanced records and how the 5% really didn't mean much(too low).

Re: THG Crisis Forum
She has not tested positive because the "B" samples have not been tested. Check your rules on proper procedures for test results. Remember Lagat???
That is why USATF and IAAF have not announced any names and they will not until they are confirmed by "B" test.
This whole thing is just sensational journalism, and a load of XXXX, until it is official.

You think foot races are going to stop being popular for the first time in how many thousand years?

Will it? I keep thinking of that old line where the doctor tells the family members, "The operation was a complete success, but oh yes, sorry for your loss."

Re: THG Crisis Forum
Agreed. In the long run, however, this is surgery and the tumor has to go. The patient will survive, in what form time will tell. But there is no more natural sport than running, jumping and throwing and it will continue to be very popular.

I don't know whether it is a really, really great sign or a really, really sad sign that this issue is so big it requires its own forum.
Maybe its both.

Regina Jacobs testing positive....It is not like there were not suspicions, but even still very shocking and sad for our sport.
