Harrison should be ok he didn't test for the steriod THG so it shouldn't effect his World Championships maybe the trials if any because he tested positive at the U.S. Trials and negative at Worlds

Calvin has world Championships and 2nd place finish at the trials for his standing for the number three spot

i agree with the first 2, but not sure about harrison as 3rd. didn't run overseas at all open.
and where brew did run oversea's and did
pretty well. what do you think about BREW begin

The last time I was asked by T&FN to help with the rankings was several years ago and I can tell you that if you want to do it right, it takes a LOT of time. To rank the top ten in any event takes many hours of compiling data and cross-referencing. That top 4 took me a hour and that's the easy part. The next 6 are much harder. I don't think anyone fully appreciates what a huge undertaking it is for T&FN to produce the Annual Rankings issue.

The obvious problem was a lack of data points - the top rankers met infrequently and some of the bigger meets (e.g. Zurich) had a poor quality field.
The meets in order were
1. WC
2. GPF
3. Berlin GL
4. Rome GL
5. London GP
and of course USATF

Times were mediocre and head-to-heads were few, so the Honors Won becomes tantamount. Therefore the top 4 (slim pickings after that) were:

1. Young - WC & GPF champion - no-brainer
2. Washington - WC 2nd, Rome, USATF and London wins
3. Blackwood - WC 4th, GPF 2nd, London 2nd
4. Racquil - WC 3rd, GPF 6th, Berlin 3rd

TFN doesn't take relay legs into consideration when ranking people in the 400 or any other distance

Are you guys serious...Tyree is the number 1 ranked 400 meters in my book. He was undefeated up to worlds. Won world indoors and ran the fastest times in the world indoors. Won indoor and outdoor U.S. championships and had the fastest time in the world outdoor. He had 1 bad race and you want to take the number 1 ranking away from him. He had beaten Jerome head to head several times. And he still came home with the silver medal after a long season. By far no one really comes close to Tyree. No one has had such a sucessful season since michael johnson at 400 meters. Who can say that they only lost 1 race in there event. Tyree all the way is the number 1 400 meter runner in the world.

that's a tough question. tyree has the fastest
time in the world. and got 2nd at worlds and did
win acouple times overseas, but no big time meets. jerome has the second fastest time in
the world and is world champion and also won the
acouple meets overseas including the athletic championships at the end of the year. it could
go to either won, if i had to take a pick, i
would go with jerome, he beat the #1 rank guy this year as in tyree and does have 2 big meet
win's under his belt.

potter and steele had very nice years, but shouldn't even be consider for this, they didn't
run overseas, except for pan-am games, and relay
at world champs. but they are up and coming.

francique had a good year, had alot of top
5 finish's and blackwood was last years #1 but
was alittle down this year. raquil really only
showed up at the world champs. brew ran good early
in mexico and had alot of top 5 finishes also, won
over at gr. brit. and did run the second fastest
leg on the winning 4x4.

Adam is a pretty good runner as well as Mitch Potter but ran good at the World Championships on the relay along with myself I beleive that they both will get a U.S. ranking they deserve it.
