The most complete endurance athlete in the history of cross-country running doubts whether he can do any of it again. "The motivation may not be there any more," said Kenenisa Bekele yesterday.

Edinburgh, UK - Kenenisa Bekele laid down an emphatic statement to the rest of the world by destroying the field in the men’s 9.3km at the Event Scotland Great Edinburgh Cross Country - IAAF permit race - today.
If this is what he does when he has doubts, the competition had better hope he does not get confident any time soon.

Good picture from Mark Sherman with Salisbury Crags in the background. (geeky side comment: It is those cliffs where Hutton saw an unconformity, part of the body of work that led him to write Theory of the Earth (1788).)

The best possible "psych" is to suggest that Bekele is only 80% fit, slightly "fat," and unmotivated--and then he buries a field like this!
