  • Borzakovskiy Skipping Indoors, Opening Season at Pre

Olympic 800 m Champion, Yuriy Borzakovskiy, has announced he will not compete in any indoor competitions in 2007, instead opting to start his summer season at Prefontaine Memorial in Eugene, USA in June. Insisting that he wants to be in top form for the World Athletics Championships in Japan and to retain his Olympic title in Beijing in 2008, he is back in strong training after recovering from a serious car accident where a fellow passenger died at the scene.

(The person who died was not a passenger, rather a pedestrian crossing the street in an unlit area not wearing reflexors).

Has Borza. ever raced in the USA? (Perhaps he's been over here a bunch of times and I've just missed the obvious -- once again)
