  • November T&FN

Got the issue today - the HS Annual edition - always one of my favorites, but good news, bad news.
Bad news: no "where are they going?" feature, boo!
Good news: the prep photography is outstanding, especially the mini-poster of Allyson Felix, but my favorite is the javelin thrower on pg. 22, caught in mid-air follow-through. Kudos to the photogs.
Old news: look at the circulation figures - we need more people to subscribe!
Surprising news - the Annual Rankings come out in November now - to be mailed Nov 21. Earlier and earlier.

If only the posters were online, too :-(

Hey, I've got an idea! Wouldn't TFN be so much better if the whole thing was online, and we didn't have to pay for anything. I can't understand why they don't just give it all away for free.

        Re: November T&FN

I think Jon isn't wishing for a free T&FN, but a chance to ogle Allyson Felix's centerfold poster (which probably explains why my teenage cousin has already absconded with my magazine, which I received yesterday)

Like TFNut, I've also wondered why T&FN's November issue never provides early scoop on the prep athletes' college choices. A short list for the top incoming seniors would be nice, so it's not old news when it's reported in the springtime.

I could live with Tommy Skipper getting the male AOY over Xavier Carter, but Carter placed FOURTH in the vote tally? How did that happen?! No lower than second in my book.

Given all the drug positives, December's elite athlete annual rankings should be intriguing.

I believe the signing period for high school seniors is about the second week of November. That would explain the where are they going? question.

            On another note, awesome cover!
            I can't stand those deer-in-the-carlights close-up head shots.

I'm talking about LAST year's graduating class - we haven't seen where they are yet.

"Last year's seniors" is old news. Trackshark had it this spring/summer. Too bad T&F missed this class. Could account for part of the low subscriber ratio.
