I am a high school thrower who also plays football. During a game, my shoulder was outward extended and was hit by oncoming traffic. Our team doctor at half time said it was just bruised but sometimes I dont think he knows what he is talking about. It hurts even worse 4 days after the game. What should I do? Any tricks you know?

Sure. Get a second opinion from a doctor. A lot of smart people on these boards but probably only a few doctors and I venture to say that none of them are going to give you any advice with that limited information.

Re: shoulder injury
Hey I took a hit that I think was similar to the one you got, about 3 years ago when I was playin HS football. I seperated the AC joint in my right shoulder. If thats what you have this COULD be a major bummer as far as throwing goes UNLESS you take care of it and let it heal properly and get in on some Physical therapy. I that and I was a state competitor (throws) in HS and am now a collegiate thrower (DII).
Your best bet is to go to a clinic or hospital and get a pro job. HTH

Re: shoulder injury
I am not about to diagnose it from the chat room, but 2 things I'll tell you.
1. Skip the last football game. You could REALLY hurt that shoulder.
2. See an orthopedic surgeon."A beautiful theory killed by an ugly fact."
