I was actually thinking of going down today to improve my discus spectator-PR! I should've done it. Hopefully they'll throw well in Modesto as well.

I was too lazy to scroll down the page... :?

Looking at that Kanter would appear to have 7 throws over 70m now... not bad effort in just 3 comps...

Anything on the women's meet? Sounds like a pretty typical Salinas wind.

And he becomes the only guy with three throws over 72m (Alekna has two).

There's also a video there now too, but it's a pretty slow load.

ops: My bad. I was thinking of Michael Mina's place. I havent' been to Danko's either (on North Point), but Mina's I didn't know anyone who had been. Turns out, I got an email from the Roricks, who did Mina's recently and were not impressed for the price. Doesn't Gary D run Viogneir in San Mateo? At any rate, they won't return to Michael Mina, but as an aside, said they would go back to Danko's.

I've done the Michael Mina place. I enjoyed it. I don't get to SF very often, but Gary Danko is probably at the top of my list right now when I next do.

                                Bay Area Michelin stars:

                                3 stars - French Laundry
2 stars - Aqua, Michael Mina, Manresa, Cyrus
1 star - Chez Panisse, Fleur de Lys, La Folie, the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton, Rubicon, Bushi-Tei, Quince, Range, Acquerello, Masa's, Gary Danko, Boulevard, Fifth Floor, Sushi Ran, Chez TJ, Auberge du Soleil, La Toque, Bouchon, Bistro Jeanty, Terra, Dry Creek Kitchen, Farmhouse Inn & Restaurant, K&L Bistro

Danko food not as good as French Laundry (what on the planet is?), but better than Aqua, Mina or Manresa (never been to Cyrus). I'd say that it was the noise and crowding that held it to a single star, but Mina is every bit the boombox it is.
