Great jump. I thought he had 18m potential if he ever nailed each phase and kept balance at 2.03m tall (I typed 2.30m before correcitng it !!!)

Just hope he can keep consistent 17.50-17.70m form this year

we've been saying for a while that it was probably just his excess weight that was preventing him from approaching 18m

i assume he has lost a little bulk this year ?

              Fantastic!
Hopefullt a fit Christian Olsson and new Tosca and perhaps Oprea can make this a battle to Osaka along with Gregorio.

As mentioned,if he wants to be my favourite for the WC he needs to be alot more consistent in 17,6 territory.

bit unlucky with the wind - he may have got 18m with a +1.5

anyhows, anyone know the altitude of this place ?

You all ought to give up the ghost on Olsson. He'll never be a 18m jumper legally, and I don't think he'll ever do it wind-aided either. He has jumped far too often, and that has resulted in him beating up his body too much to ever allow for consistent injury-free training long enough to approach 18m.

kurt, to be fair to olly, his 17.83i wr was probably worth 18m + with a good wind - i got a rough estimate that +2m/s is worth 25 - 30cm extra ( if you can adjust your run-up to take that wind into account ), so i certainly believe he has been unlucky not to have gone 18m already in his career
