Re: University of South Carolina (good or bad)
Well if a University has a three lane track, I dont care if it's indoor or outdoor, it still sucks. Therefore they need to improve on those things. I would say it's BAD. I have my reason for saying that. A lot of athletes are going there because Allen Johnson is there and Terrance..oh wait..he went back to ATL. that not a good enough reason to go there..

If we are still talking about the old "Rex Enright Athletic Facility", it was great even back in the sixties when I used to go there for Duke/South Carolina dual meets and the Columbia State-Record Relays. Sure it's even better now.

It's not at all a stretch when you're responding to a guy who twice asked if this was a good school to go too.

From a stritcly personal perspective, I don't think the campus is all that bad. It's no Virginia, but how many places are?
Columbia isn't a bad town. It's no Athens or Chapel Hill, but not bad for a southern college town.
The track facility is excellent. I think the 3-lane track you heard about is their "indoor track" which is basically a square wrapped around an indoor football practice facility. Fine for straightaway events, but not for anything longer.

Calling the U. of South Carolina a "great school" might be a stretch. I'm a firm believer that any college experience is what the student makes of it but when it comes to the stamp of approval from society on an education I doubt U. of SC is at the top of the list. For major public universities in the South it isn't even at the top of the list (list , in no particular order, would be UVA, UNC, GaTech, UF, and UGA). Nothing wrong with choosing a school for reasons other than educational reputation but let's have some notion of reality when discussing higher education institutions.

I went to TCU and during my time we had one of the worst tracks in Division 1...We now have a new one so the athletes now are better prepared I quess...But if USC only has a 3 lane track I'm voting for Mr.C.F as coach of the last two decades...With the results that he has had gotten from both the men and women programs...Damn!!!!!!

USC-Columbia is a great school and their track facility is very good. They have a top notch track program and one of the best coaches in Curtis Frye. One of my best friends from Atlanta went there and loved it.
