Any chance there were academic issues? i.e. not a good fit (for what ever reason). Is he thinking Stanford or Cal?

Regardless of what happened in HS (That is ancient history) it is hard to imagine that Klech was overworked at UCLA.. does the record support that theory?... Lets hope he can find a place where he can focus, have a positive attitude about training hard, and love the sport.. He is clearly a sub13.3 potential high hurdler and a sub 49 long hurdler.

I don't think it's a UCLA thing at all. I think you have 2 kids of tremendous talent who were over ran and over competed in H.S. (remember Craddock barley competed at all in his H.S. senior season due to repeated injury and Klech underperformed and acutally had to scratch one of his events in the H.S. state meet due to injury after doing the LJ, HJ, 400, 800, 110H, 300h and relays in various combinations in dual meets and many invitationals), who were injured when they came to UCLA and have had to be in a program where their events were picked and chosen for them to minimize the risk of further injury. I don't think either was happy about that. Craddock was 8th at NC's last year as a frosh even with the injuries and then ran 13.48 this year with recuring symptoms of the previous injuries. Darius Reed did very well as a frosh hurdler (13.80 and some change I believe) and Brandon Johnson was 2nd at NC's running 49.02 over the 400h. Now that Klech has gotten a chance to rest up and heal, hopefully his new coach will bring him along slowly and in the near future, he will turn into the athlete that we all think he can be.

Wow, both Klech and Craddock asking for a release from their scholarships at UCLA within weeks (Craddock since changing his mind). What's going on with Bay Area phenom hurlders and UCLA??
