Can anyone explain why the Wisconsin women (6th in the Great Lakes region with 203 points) were selected as an at large qualifier over Arkansas (3rd in South Central with 70 points and just 4 points out of 1st)?
Also, the times for Wisconsin's first and fifth were 21:04 and 22:24 compared to Arkansas at 21:08 and 21:54.
Yes, the courses were different and I'm sure the weather was as well (I know it was a bit sloppy in Terre Haute because I was there) so times are hard to compare. But a team that finishes 6th and is 160 points out of first place advances and a team that finishes 3rd and is just 4 points out of first does not?
Finally, I am not saying anything against the Wisconsin team, but this selection has me a bit confused.
