They all run in the same order. The lead-off man runs first, then comes the 2nd leg, then the 3rd leg, and the anchor man runs last.

        Next question?

Let's raise the bar here. What should be the order to win the Ncaa 4x4 relay? 4,2,3,1.

"conventional wisdom" IMHO has always been 2,3,4,1. But there's a lot of variables as to individuals that need to possibly change that conventionsl wisdom.

                    Let's end this madness 6.5. Final order 3, 1, 4, 2. I WIN!!! You lose. Ha!!!

and I am no coach so what do I know anyway ? That's just the formula my hs and coll. coaches used.

When Georgia Tech ran 2:59 they ran 3,4,2,1. Variables include how athletes react to certain situations and the coach's preference for setting up a race.

Look out for Florida people..they have a lethal weapon and they're going to use it..trust me i know what i'm talking about. it's about a 2:59. 2x45's and 2x44's. WOW.

Leadoff is the best guy out of the blocks.

Second needs to have either a) explosive speed or b) a physical presence. Second leg is the "cut man", so he'll be the one jockeying for position at the top of the backstretch.

                            Third is your weakest leg.

Fourth typically goes to the most competitive person. If you figure to be ahead after 3 legs, it's the guy who can hold the lead.
